Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships Phase-III

On November 2, 2023, HEC Pakistan announced the third phase of the Allama Muhammad Iqbal scholarship program, under which 4500 Afghan nationals will be awarded with fully funded scholarships over a period of three years. Under this scheme, they will shortlist about 1500 Afghan students each year.

Last year, they awarded about 1500 scholarships to Afghan students in 2023-2024. On October 1, 2024, they have opened the online application form submission for 2024-2025 and the last date to submit your application form is 30th October 2024. Applicants can apply for bachelor, master, or Ph.D. degree in their preferred fields of study.

Eligibility Criteria

There are some eligibility criteria that you should keep in mind when applying for the scholarship.

For Bacholer Degree

• The candidates must have completed 12 years of education or equivalent.
• The candidate’s age must be between 17 and 23 years.
• The candidates must have obtained 60% marks in general subjects (like history) and 65% in medical and engineering subjects (like biology) as per the IBCC Pakistan equalivance formula.

For Master Degree

• The applicants must have obtained a bachelor degree.
• The applicant’s age should not be more than 35 years.
• The applicants must have gotten 2.5 GPA out of 4.0 or equivalent in the bacholar’s degree.

For Ph.D Degree

• The candidates must have obtained a master degree.
• The candidates must have 3.0 GPA out of 4.0 in their master degree.
• The age limit for non-faculty members is 35 years and 40 years for faculty members.
• It’s necessary to select the same field of study you have studied in MS/Mphil.

• Electronic Tazkira (and if you have a passport, then it’s better; otherwise, it’s not compulsory at this stage).
• A Higher Secondary School Certificate (Shahadatnama) for the bachelor’s program, bachelor’s degree for the master program, and master’s degree is required for the Ph.D program.
